WHAT BOTH WE & OUR GUESTS CAN DO:

We buy a lot of vintage items on auction sites. Gives a charm to the interior and we are happy to reuse things.

Use of natural materials in the interior.

We try to avoid harsh chemicals as bleach and other none environmental friendly cleaning stuff.

Teach our guests about local nature and culture.

Don't buy bottled water! The tap water are fantastic in Ylläs better than any bottled water.

Recycle packaging. Some recycle can be done on the yard. Or else there is recycle station at Jounin Kauppa supermarket and also on Sivulantie street.

Don't litter, take all trash back when going out for a picnic.

Respect locals and don't trespass private property.

Respect wildlife as birds and reindeers. May the reindeer calfs are born don't disturbe them. October is the rut season and the alfa males can be grumpy don't go near.

Respect rules in the national park. Don't break branches or go outside trails in sensitive areas.

Only make fires in allowed places and check if there is a fire ban (can occur in July).

Buy localy made souvenirs and food to support local economy.

Eat on the local restaurants.

Use bikes and e-bikes rather than snowmobiles.

Buy trail maps and support the local maintenance of trails.
